Fortnightly at Gilwern Parish Centre
We will commencing our conversations on the 4th of October, in Gilwern,
fortnightly on Monday evenings in the parish centre (NP7 0AD, next to the rectory in Gilwern), at 7.00pm. We aim to stop at approximately 9.00pm, but will see how it goes.
We will be engaging with the rational part of faith; the knowledge; thinking
things through.
Each evening will be a partly self contained event, roughly following a
syllabus provided by Nicky Gumbel’s book ‘Searching Issues‘. It will not be
a conventional course, with one part leading logically to the next, so it
will quite possible to dip into the course when convenient, or else to
discuss an issue of particular interest.
We will discuss the topics at hand until they are finished, so if one goes
over two evenings, so be it. There is no hurry. And we can return in time to
revisit them, if we so wish.
We can also engage in topics not found in the book by Gumbel, such as the
reliability, provenance, and age of Scripture.
